Taking Kenalog For Eczema. Have Hep-c, Osteoporosis, Skin Breaks Out Before Taking Injection. Bruises On Arms, Legs
I have been taking kenalog 40 injections for a 1 1/2 years for a horrific skin rash which doctors call eczama, but I also have hep-c and have been tested for an associated rash. I have been told I can take for 2 to 3 years. I have caterac surgery and on the onset of astioperosis. My skin starts to break out around my mouth 2 weeks prior to injection. I also have many bruises on my arms and legs. I also have the onset of cirhosis as well.
How should I come off, by a smaller dose or less often and will I break out worse than before I had started the kenalog? Donna
hi. you seem to be getting side-effects of steroid injections that you have been taking for 1 1/2 years. Common side effects of steroids are: Weight gain; Diabetes; hypertension; cataract; osteoporosis; skin fragility, bruising, and striae; infections (fungal, bacterial); peptic ulcers etc
Consult a specialist who would help you wean off steroids slowly, since you have been on steroids for so long therefore you cant stop them suddenly.
You can use topical steroids if required for rash/breakouts/eczema etc!!!
