Taking Medicine For Blood Pressure. Suggest Some Alternate Medicine
Hi, My husband is on BP meds. He has no refills and we have no insurance or a doctor. I worked in Urgent care last year and one of the benefits was free doctor visits for family and myself. Now his script has run out. What can we do? We live in Port Orange FL.
I can't prescribe anything here, he will need to see a doctor in his home area. I would not advise going without his BP medications, but there are some lifestyle changes that he can do to help his BP in the long run: 1. No salt of any kind including sea salt, potassium-based substitutes are also not healthy.
2. Exercise and lose any excess weight.
3. stop smoking.
4. avoid stressful situations if possible.
HE MUST SEE A DOCTOR BEFORE HE IS OUT OF MEDICATION (s). I would not advise going to an urgent care to get medications as they may not give him his BP medications as they may not feel comfortable refilling medications and also that is not their purpose. There are several BP medications that are cheaper than others because they are now generic medications, but he would still have to see a doctor to get these medications.
Watch for these symptoms as they could constitute a medical emergency: headaches, dizziness, visual disturbances of any sort, vomiting, transient paralysis, convulsions/seizures, stupor, and coma.
