Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I M 65 TAKING BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS EVERY MORNING. AT 2:00 HAD 2 DRINKS HAD 1 MORE AT 3:00. I ATE BREAKFAST AT 9:00AM AND AFTER THE 3 DRINKS I ATE 4 WING PIECES. AT 4:00PM STARTED TO SLEEPY AND FELT PRESSURE ACROSS FOREHEAD . TOOK MY BLOOD PRESSURE AT 5:30 READING WAS HIGH 166/110. CHANGED BATTERIES SO BY 6:00 READING WAS 147/86. WHAT DO THESE THINGS TELL YOU.
This tells me that you likely had too much to drink. I would be very concerned if this were a regular thing for you. One drink per day is considered good for your health (i.e., one glass of red wine, or one ounce of spirits, or one beer). Anything beyond that is too much. Why did you have 3 drinks in an hour?
Regarding the blood pressure, it is high. The 166/110 is certainly cause for concern and may represent what your pressure looks like when you're stressed or active. The 147/86 is also considered high and may represent what you normally run. If I were you, I'd take about 5 random blood pressure at different times and take an average of both the upper and lower numbers. If it is greater than 130/90, seek help. You'll need medication to prevent heart attack or stroke. And have a talk with a doctor about your drinking. Good luck!
