Taking Progesterone Due To Ovarian Cyst Burst. Nausea. Taking Zofran And Hydrocodone. Do These Cause A Positive Pregnancy Test Report?
hello i am 39 and have always had normal paps tests and been regular tho ive had no children in my life and a month ago a cyst burst in my ovary so they put me on progesterone for 2 weeks and i just had my last pill yesterday and hydrocodone for what they think may be endometriosis related pain and zofran for nausea. i havent had my period since april 13th ..feeling nausiated and ive been trying to get pregnant so i just took a pregnancy test..the one that actually states the word pregnant not the lines ones just to be sure and it says PREGNANT. can any of the above drugs cause a possible false positive result? thanks so much for your help!! :)))
Hi, Thanks for the query. Usually pregnancy test kit detects the positivity of pregnancy by measuring the beta HCG levels. The drugs you used may not cause false positive result but the kit itself sometimes can give false positive results. So you once consult gynecologist and go for blood test for pregnancy and ultrasound. By these the positivity of the pregnancy can be confirmed and in case of absence of pregnancy the possible cause for delayed periods can be identified.
