Tested Positive For Tuberculin. Took The Test Without Proper Sleep And Food. Could This Effect The Test Result?
I took the tuberculin test when i had no sleep, very tired and was hungry, the one who administered it was a student, i was doubtful that he did it right. He seems inexperience and is doubtful many times. The result was positive. A year ago I had the same test and it was negative. Is there something wrong with this? or with me?
Hi, Thanks for your query. Tuberculin test has usually nothing to do with sleep and food. It is easily administered. The only thing is it must be administered intradermally not sub cutaneously. If the reading is more than 10 mm, it is positive and you must take anti-tubercular treatment. If it was negative last year, current positivity may signify infection with in one year...
Best wishes
