Thanks. I was prescribed several months ago for emergencies ONLY FIVE ATIVN, (from my pain management doctor) where I could not stop vomiting and I needed an attempt to stay out of the hospital (the financial burden that it put on my family was almost bankruptcy), FIVE Ativan by my pain management doctor for nausea WAS TO BE USED IN EXTREME EMERGENCIES OF VOMITING and trying to avoid the ER. I have Chronic Pancreatitis (an excruciating disease when you try to digest food) and therefore I vomit frequently. I am on Zofran daily, except that in a few cases I would get so sick after eating a meal, that I would vomit, vomit, vomit. 27 times in two years I have been hospitalized because I couldn't stop vomiting. They discovered that Ativan was the only thing that would settle my stomach. I used the Ativan only in an attempt to avoid the hospital. It was NEVER abused!! My doctor (at the time before she resigned AND sold her practice) explained to me with all of the new laws passing to avoid overdose, the sale of prescription drugs, etc. that she could no longer prescribe them to me. I had one left that I took 3 days ago because we ate (my husband and I) at a restaurant the PROMISED me there was no butter or other bad fats in my food. Well, the kitchen staff failed to give the memo. That night I started vomiting through the night. The next day I took the LAST Ativan because, again, I wanted to avoid the hospital at all costs. Now I have to go to a new pain management doctor on Monday and take a drug screen, and I need to know if this will show up in my urine. How long does it take to leave my system????
