Thick Saliva, Sticking To Teeth, Chronic Condition. History Of Acid Reflux, Diabetes And High BP. Treatment Options?
I am 62 years old and have acid reflux , type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. My saliva has got so it feels real thick and sticky and clings to my teeth. It feels awful and nothing I ve done seems to help get rid of the problem. I ve talked with my doctor and my dentist about this but neither knows why I have this problem nor what to do to alleviate the problem. Why do I have this problem and what can I do to stop it?
hello, Thank you for consulting HCM.Anxiety may cause severe mucus secretion so the main thing to minimize mucus secretion. But you need to know that in your case as you are already having GERD treatment with propton pump inhibitors will play an important role to reduce the symptoms and they are used for 6-8 weeks. You can also do some measures to decrease mucus secretion -drink more water and hydrate yourself -gargle with warm salt water -breath slower -drink hot teas. Hope this information may help you.If you still have some problems you can always contact me here for advice.Thank you.
