Hi there,
Thanks for your query.
Yes.
Losartan can cause similar symptoms in a minority of patients.
However, similar symptoms as yours, are most commonly seen in chronic sinus problems with/without associated
nasal allergy. In chronic sinus problem, there is frequent dripping of sinus secretions into the back of the throat (called post-nasal drip). These secretions cause
throat congestion with consequent frequent urge to clear the throat. Other symptoms are dull frontal headache, stuffiness of nose, watery discharge from nose and
sneezing.
Consult your doctor/ENT doctor if you DO have additional sinus problem. He will evaluate your
sinuses, and prescribe drugs necessary to clear the sinus secretions. (You have not mentioned if the Throat doctor had excluded the possibility of sinus problems).
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable treatment as advised.
