Throat Hurts With A Sensation To Ear Mostly When Laying Down. What Do You Think It Might Be?
My throat has been hurting with a sensation to my ear mostly when laying down. I have been to the ENT doctor but first the say it was my tonsil. I went to another doctor he told me I have acid reflux that causing the pain and also that the passage way is blocked from my sinus. What do u think it might be?
I have gone through your query regarding pain in ear with throat hurt during swallowing at lying down position.
Here I would like to say that this all is because of eustachian tube opening during degulitition. Eustachian tube is a tubular connection between ear and throat, this opens with all act of swallowing and yawing and this is to equalize the air pressure between middle ear and external atmosphere.
Therefore whenever you try to swallow in lying down position your saliva and whatsoever is in mouth tends to enter in the eustachian tube and thus it gets obstructed and ultimately give rise to pain in ear.
This is usually more aggravated if you are suffering from sinusitis and sore throat.
Regards.
