Throat In Pain. What Was The Brown Spot? Had Tonsillitis. Related?
A couple of days ago i noticed that my throat was hurting. When I took a look at my tonsils it was like a small crater like brown spot on there. I grabbed a q-tip to poke at it an it started emitting blood . Im very confused and scared because I ve had tonsillitis before but this hurt way more. What is wrong with my tonsils ?
Hello I am Dr Ravinder Sharma ENT surgeon
On the basis of information provided it appears that you have a infection of tonsils causing pain and discomfort in throat. Another possibility is collection of food particles or debris near the upper pole of tonsil. This may get infected and present in this fashion. I would advise to avoid manipulation of tonsil with q tip and consult a ENT surgeon and a throat swab for the diagnosis. You may require a course of antibiotics, analgesics and antiinflammatory drugs.
I hope this answers your concerns. Feel free to contact me if your need more information on this
With warm regards
