Hello sir, My son is 9 yrs old and he suffers from throat infection very frequently with sudden change in weather conditions, even if the change in weather is not extreme. We live in Kolkata, and the weather is very humid there. Consulting a child specialist has always ended up with antibiotics. I am trying to find out a permanent solution to avoid frequent use of antibiotics. My wife also suffers with the same problem but as usual kids are the easier victims as they spend most of the time away from home in school and playground. Please help. Rohan
Hi, the reason for such recurrence is allergy, to some substances, like foods, clothes, and atmosphere like rains, cool weather, and surroundings like dust, flower gardens etc. the other cause is the deviated nasal septum of the nose. Allergens are to be found by the self, by avoiding one after another of the above said. and avoiding the causative continuously. If D.N.S is the cause it is to be corrected, by surgery. So i advise you to consult an E.N.T surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. Thank you.
Thanks for your question History seems that it could be a seasonal allergic condition No need of antibiotics in such conditions Just take topical nasal spray like mometasone nasal spray twice a day for a month Antihistamines like levocet whenever symptoms will occurre Avoid cold and junk feeds
Thanks take care.
