Throat Scratched. Pain In Head While Eating, Speaking And Swallowing. Consult Doctor?

Hello,
I have managed to scratch my throat from eating some sharp crust, it has been four days now, and it has not subsided. There is a passive type of pain if I do not do anything, but the moment I breathe (through my mouth), speak, eat, and swallow, I feel great pain all over the right side of my head. I have tried gurgling salt water, and drinking cold milk with some lemon to no effect. I am just wondering if it's time to go consult a doctor for a checkup or to wait and let it heal.
Thank you for your time.

Consulting a Oto-rhino-laryngologist or a ENT specialist or your PCP would help detect the tonsillitis/throat pathology. You would probably need antibioitcs like Amoxicillin-Clauvanate combination along with NSAIDs like Ibubrufen which will help control the infection and ease the pain and inflammation.
