Throbbing Headache Following A Week Long Flu. Is This Normal Or Should I Consult A Doctor?

Hi. In the last week I've had something like a flu. Sore throat, hurts to swallow, all my joints ache, i have a stuffy nose most of the time, and a slight tickle in my throat (gets worse when I'm trying to sleep). But recently whenever I stand or change positions sitting my head hurts, like a throbbing in the front of my head. I'd really like to know what this throbbing might be, or if i should go to my doctor for testing of some sort.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
As you mentioned in the query that there is intense pain in the head ( frontal side ),reason may be .
1 Frontal sinusitis , this is the most common cause . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by your doctor.
2 Strep throat , this is the most common cause of throat pain with irritation in throat . As you mentioned that there is pain in various joints .Strep throat is the most common cause of joint pain .Diagnosis can be confirmed by swab examination from throat.
3 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis is the another cause. Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion.
Good luck. Dr. HET
