Throbbing Pain In Right Forearm, Numb Feeling In Hands And Fingers. Frequent Use Of Computers. What Could Be This?
Hi I have a throbbing pain in my right forearm and my hand and fingers are starting to feel numb and it's becoming hard to make a fist. I am right handed, have had no prior injury to the area and have not been using my hand/arm for sport recently. I spend a lot of time at the computer, could it be related? Thanks! 20 year old female.
Hi You have what is known as RSI(Repetitive Strain Injury) due to your computer usage. In all probability you would be having Cervical Spondylosis coupled with maybe Thoracic Outlet Syndrome which can be confirmed by a neck X-ray. My best advise to you is to limit the usage of computers for 20 minutes and take a break for about 20 seconds walking up 20 steps away from your computer and looking about 20 feet away for those 20 seconds and then go back again to the computer. With this you can prevent lot of RSI due to computers. For a start you can have Cervical Physiotherapy fro about 6 to 8 days which would definitely give you relief.
