Thumb Healing After A Deep Cut With Knife With Only Numbness And Tingling Feeling. Should I Consult The Doctor?

It is Tuesday night in NZ and on Friday early afternoon I was using a mandolin to slice vegetables. Foolishly I thought I was above using the guard and while struggling to slice a parsnip I pushed my thumb into the blade. It bleed a lot and was fairly deep but is starting to heal. I bandaged it up but managed to pull of the plaster and reopen it that night. It appears to be healing ok although it is still swollen sore and slightly numb on the top. My concern is that there is increasing numbness and tingling below the nail bed and towards the knuckle. Should I see my doctor is or is the nerves attempting to regenerate?
