Thumb Injury, Foul Smell, Stitches, Nail Peeling. Precautions Against Infection?
I smashed my thumb two weeks ago. It is twice as big as the other one still. It hurts and is beginning to smell. The ER stitched me up where I sliced the pad of my thumb and gave me antibiotics . IS it supposed to smell while the nail is falling off? What symptoms should I pay attention for to know if infection is getting out of control?

you should look for the discharge if it is coming out of your nail ,and you should always look for bad odour, bleeding ,pain, swelling
it means antibiotics are not working you may consult doctor who may change antibiotics he may be able to find which antibiotic will suit after doing culture senstivity the nail will grw from the bed and it will replace the diseased one which may take time
