hi i am a 58 yr old woman i have this thyroid i swell up and choke grasp for air if i dont take thyroid medicine this was spotted when i was 31. by great family dr william brown. in spokane . i would like to know at my age my weight is 93 pounds? i eat good at least try to i do smoke i should quit im gradually doing that . im use a nebuelizer but what would make me lose soooo soooo much weight if my thyroid med are up to date .

Your word “Thyroid” is vague / over-active - causes weight loss / under active - causes weight gain...
If it is controlled as you say and you are losing weight in spite of normal eating – you need extensive investigations to exclude underlying diseases / like Diabetes, Malignancy and so on...

Hi, you are not clear in explaining you suffer with the hypo or hyperthyroidism. I suppose it to be hyper thyroidism. If full dose of medicine is given it may lead to hypothyroidism. In under dosage it may lead to the weight loss. Thank you.

Thank for asking to HCm, reassess the thyroid function test, go for radio imaging of thyroid gland , adjust the dose of drug, keep eye on body temperature, note the temperature fluctuation if it is there, have blood sugar test done , discus these all with your doctor routine blood test is also important ,,, have nice day
