Tight, Swollen And Bruised Arm. Worry?

I had my routine blood work done yesterday, the Nurse who took my blood made me jump pretty god hen she stuck me, within seconds after the stick, My upper arm became tight and swollen, I thought nothing of it, and then as the day went on it got worse, I went to bed & woke up this morning to find a bruise forming around my upper arm where the pain is still at, as the day is going on it is getting darker. Should I be worried about this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Blood drawing with a needle stick is sometimes associated with pain and formation of purplish ring around the site of puncture.
This is more often when the needle stick is disturbed from its position.
The disturbance of the needle leads to tissue injury and extravasation of the red blood cells in the tissue and thus the bruising.
There is nothing to worry about it.
The bruise will clear away within few days.
You can take some pain killer for the pain.
