hi I am writing to. you in regards to To my boyfriend who is an iv heroin user and has a medical problem yesterday afternoon he had injected some into his left arm at the crease in his inner elbow he hadmissed a small amount from his vain and immediately it felt irritated felt like tingly and turned into a big red rash with white blotches which lasted about an hour the next day when he woke up about three inches below where he injected there was a very dark black bruise the size of a half dollar with redness surrounding it and the site felt very firm as the day went on the bruise had gotten slightly bigger and the vain underneath feels swollen and all around the bruise looks red and very irritated

There are chances of developing cellulitis or blisters and ulcer formation so you should take him to his doctor preferably surgeon.
You should also take him to rehabilitation center or to psychiatrist for evaluation regarding heroin addiction. Doctor may advise him to go for blood tests including HIV and HBsAg which is more prevalent among injectable heroin addict.
Doctor may also plan for heroin deaddiction.
