Tingling Sensation, Small Bumps Around Mouth, Swelling On Lips After Using Chapstick. Is It Herpes?
a few days ago I started using chapstick and I started feeling a tingling sensation around my mouth and my lips swell and there was some oozing from where it had broken out. I also have tiny bumps that are the same color as my skin color around my mouth. could this be herpes. because the last time this happened was about 2 years ago and I was also using carmex and the same thing happened after using these products,.
There is no complete cure for Herpes simplex infection. The virus stays dormant in the nerves of the region. They flare under the conditions of stress, malnutrition, injury to that area, immunodeficiency and ill health or on medications like steroids.
Antivirals like acyclovir and NSAIDS can be used to decrease the course of the infection. It is a self limiting infection.
Chapstick is a topical emollients. Use of this can spread the disease to other areas in face and mouth and lips. Thus better avoid it.
So do not get worried. Eat healthy foods, Avoid stress by yoga and meditation. exercise regularly.
Hope this helps, Take care.
