Tiny Hard Ball Like Thing Under Left Armpit, Painful Like Internal Bruise, Fatigue. Thoughts?
I have this hard ball like thing about the size of a pinhead or a small pea under my left armpit. It'b been there for maybe a week or so. I have read here about that it could be an infection or G-d forbid worse. It sort of feels painful like a nerve ending or an internal hard bruise. I have a baby 15 months ago and still feel tired. Maybe that's normal. I will end up getting it checked out anyway...I guess many people can have these. Thanks, Melissa
Hi Melissa! welcome to HCM! I think you have axillary lymph node enlargement and since it has been for a week only and is painful so it can be called as acute lymphadenitis. Axillary lymph nodes drain lymph from: Arm, thoracic wall, breast that means there is some acute infection in any of these. Most likely it can be due to localized bacterial infection, possibly somewhere in the arm or breast draining into the glands of the armpit, or infection within the armpit itself. you can consult a doctor get examined.A course of antibiotics will help.if it continues to grow then get a FNAC done to find out the cause of enlargement. hope this helps you! take care!
