Toddler Accidentally Ingested Small Amount Of Co-codamol. How Long Does It Take To Leave The System?

Hi My son who is 21 months has grab my bag of the hook and took my co-codamol out and was eating one when i notice i manage to get some out. i have spoken to my gp who adviced me to keep an eye on him because it was only small amount. how long does it take for c0-codamol to leave your system and what signs do i need to watch out for ?? still concerned

Co-codamol contains codeine and paracetamol.

As you have seen and it was a small amount that the child is ingested nothing to worry.

But look for the following danger signs :

Drowsiness

Vomitings

Distention of abdomen and constipation

Abnormal behavior

If you find any abnormal symptoms or signs immediately report to emergency.

Usually it takes 12 to 24 hours for the complete clearance of the drug from the system.
