Toddler Suffering From Gastroenteritis, Loss Of Appetite, Not Active, Sleeping A Lot. What Could Be This?

Hi, My toddler had Gastroenteritis,but that was for a short period but now he is sleeping a lot,has a loss of appetite,not very active. I have to force him to drink anything or eat, but he only takes very smalls amounts. I carried him in to the doctor and the hospital and they said he doesn't show any signs of dehydration. What can be the cause?

Hi dear,
Your toddler is probably is suffering from viral infection. It can result in tiredness resulting in sleepiness. It can decrease appetite but in a day or two he will improve. Don't worry just keep him hydrating with fluids, milk, tender coconut water.He will be alright soon.

Thanks for your query.
Your baby is having gastroenteritis which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
This is good that he is not showing any sign of dehydration.
Maintain hydration by giving oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each stool,give coconut water,lemonade,curd,rice porridge,boiled potato.

He appetite will resume slowly.
