Toddler With PAC Palpitations. Had Heart Murmurs At Birth. How To Treat This Condition?

I have a 3 year old fraternal twin daughter who is experiencing PAC's. At birth, she was noted to have a murmur. At 7 weeks, was seen by pedi cardiologist and an echo was performed. ASD vs PFO. We were told to come back at 1 yer of age to reevaluate. On echo at 1 year, all was well. We were released. Now, I'm hearing pac's. What should I do?

Hi,

As the structural defect of daughter's heart is over, PAC do not indicate any particular health risk. In most cases, no treatment other than reassurance is needed for PACs. These are mostly occasional.

However you may consult your doctor for symptomatic PAC and start beta blockers.

Wish for good health.
