Toddler With Vomiting And Diarrhea. Had An Head Injury Few Days Back. Concussion Or Stomach Infection?
My twenty-two month old son seems to have a stomach bug. He's been throwing up since 8 am this morning and around 10 am this morning he has been having diarrhea. Two days ago he was running around indoors, slipped and hit the front left side of his forehead on the wall unit. I thought this morning he might have a concussion as I wasnt sure what was happening but thenthe started having diarrhea and now I don't know what to think! Should I take him to the ER or visit my GP? Im definitely going to our GP but is this something far more serious? Id appreciate your advice as you know so much more than I. Thank you very much for your time. Regards, Lineti.
Hi, Lineti, You have reacted correct, in case of absence of the diarrhea it could be concussion, as the diarrhea started now the concussion is excluded. It is called food poisoning, may be caused by infected food, with bacteria, or virus. Some times it may be due to the intolarance to some foods like milk, and its products. I prescribe to my patient with such symptoms syrup of furazolidone, matronidazole, dicyclomine hydrochloride, and domperidone drops ,and lactobacilli powder. Thank you.
