My 3 years old male kid ,weight around 14.5 kg ,while taking milk yesterday night around 10.00 PM(11-05-2013) vomitted twice may be due to indigestion and other stomach problem. After that while running ,he got moderate hurt on the left side of his forehead. After half an hour forehead hurt ,he once again vomitted and thereafter he got fever . He showed some symptoms of cold also. We gave him paracetamol to relieve the fever, checked his condition every hour for assessment of sitution arising out of head injury. he behaviour was quite nornal. He never got unconscious. He was able to take tings nornal way. During hight hours after head injury, he vomitted twice more at around 2.00 A.M and 5.00 A.M.. The vomitting was done after 15 minutes after taking some water etc. In next morning i.e. today, he was having high fever, we gave him perinorn syrup and then paracetamol. after that his fever came down and he was acting as usual . Mealwhile we notice very bad odour in his latrine indication some stomach infection. I took him to child specialist, who after assessing his situation suggested that if he is behaving in a nornal way, the vomitting might be due to stomach infection due to which he has got fever also and not due to head injury. He prescribed some medicine Metronidazole, cefixime, and paracetamol. One dose was given at around 11.30 A.M. Thereafter my baby was quite active not showing any sign of any head injury. At around 1.00 Pm he got slept and wake up at around 4.00 PM and took some fruit juice but again vomitted and also we again noticed some bad odour in his latrine at around 4.30 PM today. What should I do now? is vomitting may be due to stomach infection or head injury. Should i go for CT Scan of his brain while his behaviour patter does not show any sign of brain injury. Kindly advice me and also suggest what type of monitoring is required in this case for how long time and what precaution i should take alongwith medication suggested. Please give me elaborate answer to subside my anxiety regarding my child. thank you
