Toe Nail Injury, Detached On One Side, Leaking Yellow Fluid. Taking Augmentin. Treatment?
I pulled a chair over my big toe and the nail became raised up/detached on one side . Went to the doctor and he put me on antibiotics for 7 days, he did not remove the nail. The antibiotics ( Augmentin 625mg 1 tablet twice daily) are going to be completed tomorrow. It is leaking a light yellow fluid. Is my toe infected ? Should I get more antibiotics?
Hi .when the nail is detached to one side it should be completely removed otherwise infection persists even after using antibiotics.hence first remove the nail completely then start using antibiotics .and a anti inflammatory agent.apply nebusulf powder in the morning and t-bact ointment in the night .once it becomes dry stop using drugs.do not worry nail will grow within few days
