Took Nordette After Unprotected Sex, Had Withdrawal Bleed Followed By Heavy Bleeding. Could I Be Pregnant Still ?

Hi. So here's what happened. I had my period on May 16. On May 21 my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, but he came outside me. The next day, we had unprotected sex again. Still, he came outside me. As a precaution, I took Nordette the following day, 4 pills at around 6pm and another 4 pills 12 hours after. On May 29, I started what I assume is withdrawal bleeding from the ecp. It was light at first, then got heavier the second day, and then lighter again (there's only a little left now). It felt and looked like my normal period. My concern is that I've read about the possibility of implantation bleeding. And today, I've noticed a dull pain in my lower left side, near the pelvic area. I know that this sort of pain can be experienced during ovulation but the problem is that I haven't been keeping track of the length of my menstrual cycle and I think I'm somewhat irregular, varying a few days or so every month, so I don't know when I ovulate. Based on the info I've given, do you think I could be pregnant?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

According to your description the possibility of pregnancy is less.
Because:
Even in case of irregular periods ovulation usually will not occur on around 6th day of menstrual cycle.
And you took pills within 72 hours.

So possibly the bleeding you got could be withdrawal bleeding as you said.
And the pain you are having could be due to ovulation or there may be some infection.
If you are still having doubt and if you miss your next expected date of periods, go for pregnancy test once.

The fact that you had taken 8 tabs of Nordette as an emmergency contraceptive, & it was followed by withdrawal bleeding-reduces possibility of pregnancy-
Also the fact that both the intercourses were on5th &6th days of cycle -also goes for non conception (no chance of ovulation so early)
So, pl. don't worry there are least chances of conception inMay.
But let me stress the fact that withdrawl method is not vrery reliable ,so you better go for more regularf contraceptive device. likeIUDs,orals .To consume a mega dose of 8 tabs or taking immergency pills is not safe if used repeated.
Please take care,
Thank you.
