Took Amoxicillin For Strep Throat. On Birth Control. What Could Be The Reason For Having Light Bleeding?

I was on amoxicillin for strep throat a few weeks ago and now I am having light red bleeding that started about 5 days ago. I am on birth control and I know the antibiotics affect it. I m suppose to have my period next week and I did have sex about 8 days ago.

There could be remote possibility of conception occur. Would suggest you to get urine pregnancy test in event of missing period. Would also advise you to use alternative contraception if you are using any medication which could affect the efficacy of pills.
