Hi , am 21 years old , I took birth control pill ( Penorit) after that I had my periods 2 weeks before my actual date and it lasted for 3-4 days , after that next month i had periods it lasted for 2 days hardly .. I was worried i took iron tablets but shockingly after one week i was having periods again .. now i am on 8th day of periods and i am worried cuz still its bleeding .. not heavy but some clots ... plz help me how to stop it
It probably seems like a hormonal imbalance caused by the birth control pill that is causing frequent and prolonged menstruation.
You may consider taking tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid combination pills thrice daily for a week or so. Please get the pill prescribed by your primary care physician.
If even after a week, your periods does not stop, then you require further investigations in the form of ultrasound of the pelvis. Management will depend accordingly.
I hope this helps you. I wish you quick recovery.
