Took Microdantin To Prevent Chronic Bladder Infections, Urine Dark Brown, Pain. What To Do?
i take 10 mgs of microdantin a day to prevent chronic bladder infections but a few weeks I got one I thought so I called in for bactrumds but now its gone and it was likeit did not work at all . my urind is very dark brown but clear and the pain even with medication is sore and its like my whole system is shuting down its very difficult to pea or even eat or dring but I hate hospitals so what can you tell me
The change in the colour of the urine and painful urination would suggest that it is a recurrent infection which would require another set of antibiotics
The initial antibiotics may not have worked because the bacteria causing the infection may not have been responsive to that medication. Bacteria can be resistant to some medications. A urine sample may have to be sent to the lab to find out exactly which organism is causing the infection and which antibiotics would best treat it.
You should go to your doctor for an assessment and treatment.
I hope this helps
