Took Microgynon For 3 Days In Previous Periods. Stopped It Due To Headache. Didnot Get Periods

Hi, i went on microgynon 30 on the first day of my period, 1st October. 3 days of constant headaches i stopped taking them. I have not had a period since, i know Im not pregnant. My 21st birthday party is next week and obviously would like the period before or after this special event. Is it normal for the period to be late even after taking it for such a short time and would starting the pill again help?

Hi,
The disturbance in the normal hormonal milieu created by the intake of the pill could have resulted in the delay in the cycle. In the current scenario, you would need induction of the cycle with the help of hormones if pregnancy can be excluded. Please see a specialist to get a proper evaluation and get the right prescription to induce withdrawal bleed. Do not use contraceptive pills in an irregular fashion in future as they totally disrupt your hormonal balance. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
