Took Misoprostol For Termination Of Pregnancy. Mild Cramps, Little Red Watery Discharge. Ultrasound Shows No Embryo, Small Fibroid In Inner Uterus. Advice
hi doctor. am 3 - 4 weeks pregnant and went to a gynae for termination. he prescribed misoprostol 4 tablets orally i put under my tongue and then 2 again orally after 3 hrs. I had mild stomach cramps after 5hrs the whole night but only discharge a little very light red watery discharge on the pad. its already 46 hrs gone and still there's no bleeding and no stomach cramps. please advice on what to do should i continue waiting or?i also took an ultrasound which does not show any embryo at all. except for a small one fibroid in the inner uterus?
Hi, Thanks for the query. It is difficult to confirm the pregnancy at 3 to 4 weeks of gestation. Ultrasound also cannot detect this much early pregnancy. So may be because of minimal growth of endometrium you had minimal bleeding. You wait for one more week and go for repeat ultrasound. If the uterine cavity is empty no need to worry.
