Took Rabipur Injection For Dog Bite On The Same Day, But Body Was Reactive To Anti Rabies Horse Serum
Hi Doctor , I am abhinav 25 years old weight 84 kgs height 5 7, i had a dog bite on 23rd I took rabipur injection on the same day but my body was reactive to anti rabies horse serum, I took Kamrab on 26th which is the 3rd day, please advice whether this is fine.

Ideally injection should start on the day of the bite but there may not be harm if injection has been taken later. Keep close watch on the dog which bit you and if it is healthy for 10 days after biting you then you will not get rabies. Continue your full course of rabies injection till then. Avoid provoking dogs. Their bits can also spread other bacterial infections for which you need to apply or take antibiotics. Next time if dog bites, better wash the wound in 10% soap solution before getting rabies vaccine.

Does that mean if the dog is not healthy for 10 days I will get rabies even after taking doses of rabies vaccine I am afraid but this scares me now
