Tooth Abscess On The Lower Side, Subsided With Antibiotics, Swollen And Painful Lumps On Jaw Bone, No Relief With Medicine. Help?
I have had an abscess tooth on the lower side on and off for 6 months, I cannot afford a dentist . he emergency room has given me antibiotics every time, The tooth is no longer sore or hurt but I now have 2 painful lumps on my jaw bone. I live in a rural area and there are no free dental clinics. I am taking antibiotics again but the lumps are still painful and still swollen.
Hello and thank you for your question.
The only thing you can do is extract the tooth. If this has been bothering you for 6 months, you should have been putting money to the side to help cover the cost of the extraction. Taking antibiotics long term is only placing a bandade on it and not treating the problem. This can cause the bacteria to become immune to the antibiotics and become more dangerous. The lumps are either abscesses, inflamed lymph nodes or the combination of the two. Google free dental clinics near your area, if you have to travel 50 miles, it would be worth it if you cannot afford the treatment. This can be deadly and should not be left to linger.
I speak these words out of concern for your health and hope that you get this taken care of soon.
Hello,
Painfull lump might be because of tooth abscess or cyst, antibiotics and pain killers can reduce your pain only for time being or temporarily, antibiotics will not cure/solve the problem permanently. Best is consult dental surgeon or oral surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment. You cant keep taking medications which will be solve your problem.
hello
i agree tjat dentql treatments are costlt but taking
antibiotics everytime is not a solution.infection can be
lowered with antibiotics but cells countinue to multiply
leading to form cyst or even tumour.
so i would advice you seqrch for some charitable
dental clinic i your area and get either root canal treatment
or extraction done.
rinsr mouth with warm saline water.analgrsics and antibiotics
will provide relief.
