Treated UTI With Antibiotics, Blood Showed Up In Urine Again. Is This Serious ?

Hi, about a month ago I had a uti and was treated with a few different antibiotics and felt better. Just went back for same symtoms which I felt I had brought onto myself for not changing out of workout clothes all week until a few hours after sweating a ton in 90 degree weather. Microscopic blood showed in my urine and they started me on an antibiotic two days later they called to say I don't have a uti but to finish the medicine and come back for another urine sample next week. I googled reasons for blood to show up without a uti and am now scared. The odd thing is, I was feeling better with taking the antibiotic. Questions, can this be common without being serious? Should I finish the medicine if it sounds like I didn't in fact need it? I did start at the same time as all of this a few miles a day power walking with spurts of running and was one day out from the end of my cycle. Any positive insight would be helpful.

Welcome to HCM.Microscopic haematuria has been known to occur with long distance running and strenous exercise. This typically resolve son its own with rest. The antibiotic may resolve any systemic infection/incipient infection in any other system too helping you feel better, also once you start a course of antibiotics it is prudent to finish it to stop bacterial resistance from developing by taking a partial course. Please give the next sample after at least 48 hours rest.
