Treated For Mesenteric Lymph Nodes. Scan Showed Increase Mesenteric Lymph Nodes With Abdominal Pain. Concerned
my son is 7 year old and he is undergoes ultrasound eight month before n some mesentric lymphnodes seen size is 10*5 mm .he is treated with tuberculosis medicice for six month.now we again under goes ultrasound for him and mesentric lymphnode size is 10.5*6.6 size is increase now .pain in lower abdomen is common in him. what should i do now

Abdominal lymphadenopathy is common is children. You have already taken treatment for 6 month and again there are lymphnodes. So he needs to get evaluated in details.
Consult a board certified surgeon for4 opinion. He may need few investigations like CT SCAN abdomen or barium follow through. It will delineate intestinal pathology if any.

Mesenteric lymphadenitis is an inflammation of lymph nodes. The lymph nodes that become inflamed are in a membrane that attaches the intestine to the abdominal wall.
These lymph nodes are among the hundreds that help your body fight disease. They trap and destroy microscopic "invaders" like viruses or bacteria.
Mesenteric lymphadenitis often causes abdominal pain. It is most common in children and teens.
But the most common cause is infection.
Inflammatory conditions may also be linked with mesenteric lymphadenitis.
Much less often, inflamed mesenteric lymph nodes result from cancer.
Other infections that cause mesenteric lymphadenitis include:
1.Direct or indirect infections related to HIV. This is the virus that can lead to AIDS.
2.Tuberculosis. This is a common bacterial infection. It usually attacks the lungs. But it can also attack other parts of the body.
3.Whipple disease. This is a systemic bacterial infection.
4.Acute terminal ileitis. This is an inflammation of the end of the small intestine. It may be due to a bacterium or Crohn’s disease.
Inflammatory conditions commonly linked to mesenteric lymphadenitis are:
1.Appendicitis, inflammation of the appendix.
2.Inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
3.Connective tissue diseases such as lupus, sclerosis, or rheumatoid arthritis.
4.Diverticulitis, inflammation of the lining of the large intestine.
5.Pancreatitis, inflammation of the pancreas.
So,there are many causes.Multiple mesentric node enlargement doesn't mean it is due to Tuberculosis.
In my experience,the patients signs and symptoms were relieved after removing Appendix.
