Treatment For Crackling Sounds In Lung And Coughing Clear Fluid?
Hi. My uncle has crackle sounds in his lungs. His doctor gave him dioxocyclne hyclate 100 mg twice a day for week. He said he did not want the respitory illness to morph into pneumonia. I have also been giving him breathing treatments three times a day, but he still has crackle sounds and now is coughing up some clear fluid. I know I should still give him breathing treatments. He is now on oxygen all of the time. Which is better for him, but I was wondering if he will ever get better, He is 92. He has a history of heart failure. His oxygen saturation is 98 on oxygen and about 94 95 on room air. Please let me know what I could still do to help him. Sincerely, M
As you are saying that he is a case of heart failure also there is chances of blood getting accumulated in lung. This can also cause crackling sound. It would be better to get his chest x ray. If lung are congested diuretic and isotropic medications will help him. Also antibiotics need to be continued.
