AEROBIC CULTURE AND ANTIBIOTIC SUSCEPTIBILITY TEST: Gram s Staining: Occasional pus cells & few Gram positive cocci clusters seen. Organism Isolated : Insignificant growth urethral commensals. Is this serious? Please let me know the treatment I should take
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. Commensals are normal organisms present at the site. They live in harmony with the body. The avoid proliferation of pathogenic organisms at that site. 2. Urethral commensals, means these organisms are normal for urethra. 3. They do not hold any significance as they are normal. Treatment is not necessary.
Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
