Tried Having Sex, Very Painful. Is It Safe To Use Xylocaine Jelly? Any Side Effects?

Hi. I'm 23 years old virgin. Tried having sex with my boyfriend of 4 years but he could not penetrate me since it is too painful for me. Both of us want to have sex badly but the pain is stopping us from moving forward. We tried fingering but only one finger can be inserted..if we try two fingers, its too painful to insert also. Thinking of using xylocaine jelly but not sure of its pro's and con's and how will it affect us and also how to use it.

Hello
Thanks for posting your query.
You seem to be having a condition called vaginismus and it requires proper sexual therapy to deal with. You can use xylocaine but it may reduce your protectikn capacity if you are using condoms.
Try relaxation exercises before you have sex.
Hope I am able to answer you.
Thanks and regards

Hi, Welcome to HCM

Most of the problems regarding penetration is caused due to lack of lubrication while performing sexual intercourse. This is very common in young adults during their first time. Try lubrication jellies such as KY jelly.

Xylocaine jelly may not work for everybody as it is an anesthetic and may lower your abililty to experience any pleasure. If needed consult your family physician for the same.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Xylocaine is a local anaesthetic and it will prevent the local sensation that is required for sex. So don't use this jelly. First time you are trying so there may be anxiety, difficulty in penetration. You can go step by step, do some fore play as it increase secretion as lubricant and with full errection try to insert. If the act is still difficult you can consult a therapist first for further management. As this may be vaginismus or fibrous hymen or other cause.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr. Lohit
