Hi I am 47yrs old, suffering for 18yrs with trigeminal neuralgia. After having a successful balloon compression, I had a horrible one leaving me with many side effects. I have 4th nerve palsy in my left eye which obviously has caused double vision. I have been using prisms and now I cannot drive because my vision is unsteady due to TN pain and I have no peripheral vision. I am scared to death of surgery (after 2 MVD, etc). My neuroopthalmologist suggests surgery. He said it invoves the muscles not my nerves. I need to drive, I want to drive. Please help. Thank you kindly, Teresa YYYY@YYYY I am sorry to waste your time, I have no credit card. I cannot work and live on ssd
Hi, it appears that it stated that it is not the damage of the nerve, but it is the damage to the muscles. It may be true that the nerves are effected due to the misplacement and pressure of the nerves. Of course it is advisible to obay him but you must be sure of the percentage of the success in the surgery, as you want to get it for driving, and it requires caution and judgement. You enquire the surgeon about it and then proceed. Thank you.
