Trying To Conceive For 10 Years. Undergone Blood Tests, Having Symptoms Of CMV. How Serious Is This Disease?
Good Evening, I am a very concern mother. My daughter 43 years old married for 10 years, her and her husband have been trying to have a baby for the last two years. Her GYN referred her to a specialist and currently she is going thru a serious of blood test. One test came back with symptoms of CMV (cytomegolvirus). She is worry, scared. Every time I speak to her all she does is cry. How serious is this Virus? As a mother I am very concern about my daughter and her health. How can I comfort my daughter. Please advise. Thank you Gloria
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
CMV is a very common virus. Most of us have been exposed at some point in our lives, so tests that are done usually indicate that we are "immune". It is not typically a virus that is associated with infertility. It is usually a concern if someone is pregnant and gets infected with the virus for the first time during the pregnancy itself. So this is nothing that she should get upset about and she should discuss it further with the doctor. Make sure they do a semen analysis on her husband!
I hope that this helps and good luck!
