Trying To Get Pregnant. Bleeding After Carrying Heavy Weight. Missing Periods. Was That A Miscarriage?

Hi, I am trying to get pregnant. I am 23 and I carried a very heavy load on my back for quite a long distance to my home and On the way I experienced vaginal bleeding. My period is not due and after the small blood that came out nothing happened except some back and abdominal pain. My period has not come yet and and it is just about its time. Have I experienced miscarriage?

Hello,
Thanks for using health care magic

there are many causes of an abnormal per vaginal bleeding in women.
What ever the case, pregnancy related causes must be ruled out first before thinking of any other causes in women who are sexually active and for sure you are since you have been trying to get pregnant.
Pregnancy related causes are ruled out by a simple pregnancy test with urine.
the test is very imperative and must be done in order to be sure the cause is not pregnancy related.
However, it could be due to an occasional irregularity in your menstrual cycle due to an alteration in hormonal levels.
Another possible cause could be infections and they should be ruled out as well.

You should consider seeing your doctor for further evaluation but first and urgently do the pregnancy test. If its positive, treat the situation as a matter of urgency as it could be a miscarriage or threatened abortion or worse scenario an ectopic pregnancy.
Best regards
Dr Achuo
