The only treatment for a
brain tumor is operation, which is associated with significant morbidity. Therefore, the decision to do surgery depends on the size, location as well as the nature of the timor.
In your daughter's case, the size of tumor is very small, and is unlikely to produce any symptoms. The nature of tumor is not known, however is likely to be benign, rather than malignant. In a
benign tumor, one can wait and watch for it to grow. If it does not grow, then, there is no need to do surgery. However, if a benign tumor begins to grow, then, it has to be removed.
Lastly, the location of tumor is also important. Certain parts of brain subserve important functions, and in those areas, if a tumor is found, there would be a need to be more aggressive.
Corpus callosum is not among the most eloquent areas of the brain.
