Twisted Ankle, Foot Swelled, Bruising, Hard Lump Next To Ankle Bone, Hurts. What Could This Be?
I twisted my ankle just under a month ago, the ankle and foot swelled and bruising covered around 40% of my foot/ankle. This lasted for around a week, a couple of weeks after the incident I was walking normally and can now run and jump with no pain. It aches a bit when I wake in the morning but ceases when I start to move. It was on my left ankle and on the left side of the ankle there is a hard lump about 4cm in diameter next to the ankle bone, it doesn t hurt. What could this be? Thanks.
Hi, as you describe it could be a dislocation of the lateral tarsal bone. As the inflamation has come down the bone is accomodated there, with out pain, but you may find it difficult while having a heavy weight. So i advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment, to prevent further complications. Thank you.
