Type 1 Diabetes, Variable Sugar Level. Fruits With Meal?
My 10 year old son who is recently diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes has a varied sugar level usually before lunch it touches 60-70 and after having a meal its goes up drastically 250- 300. Wherein i include a fruit in his meal, should i just give him the meal without any fruits will the meal itself make the sugar go up, we are Indian and pure vegeterian and have Roti, Dry vegetable curry,Pulses for lunch.
Type I diabetes is insulin dependent. You should known the carbohydrate count of a meal and give insulin accordingly. Give fruits containing fructose which does not need require insulin for synthesis.
