USG Of Uterus Done. Advice?

USA shows a bulky uterus with AP Diameter of 5.4 cm. The echo pattern is largely homogenous. The myomrmtrium is expanded by solid tissue masses with mixed echo textures and AP diameter of(a)2.1cm intramural in the anterior fundal wall and(b) 2.1cm intramural in the upper posterior wall.the endometrial thickness is normal. Both ovaries appear normal in size and structure. Adnexae bilaterally free. Pouch Douglas is normal. No free pelvic collection. No cyst, no cyesis or retained products of conception sighted. Assessment: uterine fibroids..please what is your advice based on the result of this scan.thank you very much.

Thanks for writing to HCM

You have two uterine fibroids in upper segment, one in anterior wall and another in posterior wall. These are benign tumours.
You didn't mentioned your age and symptoms. It matters a lot in management.
Treatment modalities are both conservative and surgical. It depends upon symptoms and age.So,better you should consult your gynecologist.
If conservative management is opted then regular size monitoring should be done.
Other findings are within normal limit.
