Ulnar Compression In Left Arm. Unable To Bend Ring Finger, Use Left Hand For Work. Treatment?

I have had an ulnar compression in left arm for a year. In the last two weeks my pinky and ring finger can hardly bend, It is very uncomfortable. I have an appt. with an orthopaedic surgeon on August 13 but I think I need to go to the ER or something. I cannot use that left hand for anything-like coming hair, dicing vegetables, lifting or else I drop things. Do you think I should go to ER or just wait it out? I don't want to lose the function of those two fingers. I am really desperate.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Since the ulnar nerve compression symptoms are there for a year, it is less likely to recover,. The difficulty in bending can also be related to tendonitis. It is best to consult an orthopedician for proper diagnosis.
