Ulnar Nerve Discomfort In Elbow, Tingling In Fingers. Will A Chiropractor Help?
What s the best way to relieve ulnar nerve discomfort in the elbow? I noticed the discomfort about two or three months ago. It doesn t hurt every day. Only once every couple of weeks or so. Today my right ring finger and pinky were tingling a little. They aren t tingling anymore. Would a chiropractor be the best option to start with?
Hi there :
It is an irritating to the nerve that supply the small ( pink) finger and the inner 1/2 of your ring finger which make you feel as such.
You may find your self more symptomatic when you bend the elbow and most of the symptoms will go away when the elbow is straighten to support the idea that you may need some thing done for ulnar nerve compression specifically.
If symptoms continue and persistent, the EMG/ NCS ( electromyography, Nerve conduction study) will help you and physician to localize where these symptoms originated ( i.e. to find out where the pressure is?).
Furthermore, if the symptoms disappear at some point .. this will indicate that you may not need the surgery to relieve this compression or to transpose the nerve.... etc.
