Dear friend, welcome to Healthcaremagic!
I am Dr. Prasad Akole (Critical Care Expert- http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole) and am glad to address to your query here.
Usually it is due to a stone or narrowing by a stricture. Also his prostate is enlarged with consequent accumulation of excess urine in the bladder after urination.
This stagnation has caused cystitis (infection of the urine in the bladder) and
prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate).
He thus has an UTI (
Urinary Tract infection) with
obstructive uropathy.
I would advise you to get him evaluated in detail by a
urologist and do extensive lab testing for complications—hemogram, urea,
creatinine, sugars, serum PSA levels, electrolytes, urine routine and culture, ECG, Xray chest.
Any other tests deemed necessary on actual physical evaluation.
He is at risk of kidney failure.
I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily. I would be glad to answer any further queries. Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole, where you can ask me directly.
Good Luck!
As it helps us to improve continuously, may I request you to write a rating review before you ‘accept’ and ‘close’ the query.
